Pastiche, Parody and Piracy- Salvador’s Deli

The third and final cartoon of mine on show at the Pastiche, Parody and Piracy exhibition

The title for this exhibition was quoted from the government IPO copyright law forthcoming exception for parody, satire and pastiche. If this law is finally passed by the government, the act of subverting and appropriating elements of popular culture will be protected from large corporate enterprises that often seek to silence it through legal action and claims of ‘copyright infringement.’ We believe this is crucial for the future of appropriative art and satire, and although the law has been delayed, we are putting on this exhibition to celebrate artists, satirists and cartoonists who are paving the way.

Fasten your seltbelts, its going to be a bumpy ride.
